At least six Indian nationals have been arrested here for allegedly abusing visa conditions and having links to the on going racket.

COLOMBO: At least six Indian nationals have been arrested here for allegedly abusing visa conditions and having links to the on going racket involving kidney transplant operations in Sri Lanka, police said today.

They were arrested around midnight yesterday at Pennyquick Road in the south Colombo ward of Wellawatta, police spokesman Assistant Superintendent Ruwan Gunasekera said.

The Indians had been arrested for their suspected links to the on going racket involving kidney transplant operations performed in Sri Lanka, police officials said.

Sri Lankan Health Ministry has begun an investigation into the alleged racket involving Indian kidney patients and Sri Lankan doctors.
