'Inappropriately debanking me': Trump threatens lawsuit against JPMorgan over post-Jan 6 banking ban

President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he plans to sue JPMorgan Chase within weeks, accusing the bank of “incorrectly and inappropriately debanking” him after the January 6, 2021 Capitol protest. Trump paired the threat of litigation with a rebuttal of a report by The Wall Street Journal that said he had offered JPMorgan chief executive Jamie Dimon the role of chair of the Federal Reserve. The two-time president called the claim “totally untrue,” saying no such offer was ever made and faulting the newspaper for not seeking comment before publication.
