'If you import third world, you become third world', says Trump

US President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social stating, “If you import The Third World, you become The Third World!”, while also issuing a warning to Iran amid escalating regional tensions.

In the same set of posts, Trump warned Tehran to return to negotiations or face consequences, writing that “time is running out” and cautioning against further escalation. The remarks followed earlier statements linked to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil transit route.

Shortly after the warning, AP reports indicated that Iran launched missiles and drones targeting Israel and Kuwait, prompting both countries to activate their air defence systems. There was no immediate official confirmation from Iranian authorities on the strikes.

Trump’s remarks on immigration came as part of a series of posts addressing the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran. The confrontation, which began over a month ago following US-Israeli strikes, has since widened into a broader regional situation, with repeated missile and drone exchanges reported across multiple countries.

In his posts, Trump reiterated demands linked to the Strait of Hormuz, while issuing warnings of further military action. Iran, which has rejected US demands, has responded with counterattacks and statements, as both sides continue to exchange claims over military developments and damage to infrastructure.
