'If we trust him, we lose': Tehran residents voice scepticism over Trump's war diplomacy
Iranians on the streets of Tehran on Monday (March 23) voiced scepticism over U.S. President Donald Trump's claims of peace talks with Iran, as the war between the United States, Israel, and Iran entered its fourth week.Trump said he had ordered the U.S. military to postpone strikes on Iran's power plants and energy infrastructure, citing talks with Iranian authorities. Iran's Fars news agency, citing a source, said there are no direct or indirect communications with the United States. Residents interviewed on Tehran's streets dismissed Trump's remarks as deceptive, with one resident saying sanctions being lifted would have been the true test of good will toward the Iranian people, and another resident warning "if we trust him, we lose."
