If house investigates me, we won't collaborate on deals: Donald Trump

Addressing a news conference on mid-term election results, U.S. President Donald Trump said that this mid-term election defied history as Republican party expanded significantly in the Senate (upper house of US Congress).

Trump stated that the election results marked a positive outcome considering the proportion of fund available for the Republican party and the media coverage which the party received.

The results will also enable both the main parties to collaborate on key issues keeping the larger American interests in mind, said Donald Trump.


Donald Trump categorically said that if the house (House of Representatives) investigates him, then Republicans won't collaborate on deals.

Despite losing control of the House of Representatives, U.S. President Donald Trump celebrated the results of the mid-term polls terming it as a "Big Win". He has also issued warming to the Democrats for not not using their majority in the House of Representatives to investigate him

Republicans increased their seats in the Senate (Upper House) – they now have 51 seats out of 100, after Democrats' dreams of the Senate majority, highly unlikely, were shattered by losses in key states: Indiana, Missouri, Tennessee, North Dakota and Texas.

But Republicans lost their majority in the House, after Democrats seized 28 seats from them.

The mid-term elections were rewarding for women- as a record number of close to 100 women won seats in the US House of Representatives.

States like Georgia and Florida held key races for governor and state legislature seats in midterm elections across the US, a change which could impact Donald Trump's 2020 re-election bid.
