US President Donald Trump has revealed that following his Oval Office talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders, he personally called Russian President Vladimir Putin to lay the groundwork for possible peace talks. Trump explained that he did not raise the idea in front of other leaders during the White House meetings, noting that Putin had not spoken directly to anyone in the White House for years and had also kept a distance from European leaders.
