Hurricane Erin weakens to post-tropical cyclone, floods New Jersey road as it churns offshore

Eyewitness video filmed on Thursday (August 21) showed a road in Margate City, New Jersey submerged by floodwater brought about by Hurricane Erin, which was churning in the Atlantic hundreds of miles offshore. Erin, which has since made its way further out to sea, was downgraded by the National Hurricane Centre on Friday (August 22) to a post-tropical cyclone. However, the agency warned swimming at many beaches along the east coast of the U.S. remained dangerous over the weekend.
