'Historic, brotherly relationship...': Iran, Pakistan affirm bilateral ties at sidelines of SCO summit

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Tianjin, China. A statement from Pakistan's government said Prime Minister Shehbaz reaffirmed the country's "deep commitment to its historic and brotherly ties with neighbouring Iran" at the meeting. The Iranian President said his country stands "shoulder to shoulder" with Pakistan as it battles some of the worst flooding in decades, the statement added.
