'Heard six or seven shots': Journalists recount gunshots fired at White House correspondents' dinner
President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump were rushed out of the White House Correspondents' Association dinner by Secret Service agents on Saturday (April 25) night after a man armed with a shotgun tried to breach security, officials said. Journalists who attended the dinner recounted the moment they first heard gunshots. An attendee who did not give his name said he was in the lower lobby when he heard shots being fired. "I just heard it, and it sounded like it was behind me," he said, adding that he immediately ran out of the lobby.
