GOT's 'Iron Throne' another addition to Leicester Square entertainment icons

Scenes in the Square
A statue of the Iron Throne has been unveiled by actor Isaac Hempstead Wright as part of Leicester Square's 'Scenes in the Square' statue trail. The statue reveal coincides with the 4K Ultra HD release of each season of Game of Thrones, the first time in which individual seasons have been available to buy in the format, and marks the tenth anniversary of the show.

Other entertainment icons
The throne joins nine entertainment icons from the past 100 years which were unveiled in late February last year. Recently they were granted longer term residency by Westminster Council to remain in Leicester Square until at least July 2023. Visitors can also find Harry Potter, Bugs Bunny, Gene Kelly in Singin' in the Rain, Mary Poppins and Mr Bean at the Square.

Hit TV franchise
Following the success of the television franchise, the prequel to the story - House of the Dragon is due to be released in 2022. Set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series will focus on the story of House Targaryen. It is based on the George R.R. Martin book Fire & Blood.
