G7 minimum global tax deal 'good news' for Canada, says finance minister

A landmark deal by the Group of Seven advanced economies to pursue higher global taxation on multinational businesses is good news for Canadian businesses and will ensure a level playing field, Canada's finance minister said on Saturday.

"Multinational corporations need to pay their fair share of taxes," Chrystia Freeland said in a statement on Twitter.

"This is good news for Canadians and Canadian businesses, and will ensure a fair and level playing field for them in the global economy."
