Paul questioned if someone who applauds political violence is the right person to lead the Department of Homeland Security, while offering President Donald Trump's pick to become the new leader of the Department of Homeland Security, Senator MarkWayne Mullin, the chance to apologise for reportedly previously saying he understood why a neighbour attacked Paul, a Republican.
