Pakistani security forces claimed to have arrested four militants, including an important commander of a banned organisation, in the restive northwestern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

PESHAWAR: Pakistani security forces today claimed to have arrested four militants, including an important commander of a banned organisation, in the restive northwestern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

Acting on a tip-off about the presence of terrorists in Zargari area of the Hangu district, security forces carried out a search operation.

During the raid, three militants with affiliations to a banned organisation were arrested, including its important commander, security forces said.

In a separate operation, counterterrorism department of Mardan district raided a house and arrested a suspected terrorist involved in attacks on police.
