Fort Stewart shooting: Suspected shooter was an active duty soldier, says Brig. Gen. John Lubas

A U.S. Army sergeant allegedly shot and wounded five other soldiers at Fort Stewart in Georgia, using his personal handgun, officials said. The shooting at the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team area was reported at 10:56 a.m and the suspect, Sgt. Quornelius Radford, was apprehended at 11:35 a.m., Fort Stewart said. All lockdown measures have since been lifted, Brig. Gen. John Lubas, the 3rd Infantry Division and Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield commander, said at a news conference. The suspected shooter is an active duty soldier assigned to Fort Stewart, Georgia, said Brig. Gen. John Lubas, the commanding general of the 3rd Infantry Division. “This morning, shortly before 11:00, an active duty soldier assigned to Fort Stewart, Georgia, shot and wounded five of his fellow soldiers,” said Brig. Gen. John Lubas “Thankfully, all are in stable condition and all are expected to recover.”
