The son of former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki has been found dead, media reported on February 18. The body of 19-year-old Marco Troper was discovered in his University of California, Berkeley dormitory earlier this week, police reports said. According to a family source, suspected drug overdose could be the reason.

It may be noted here that Susan Wojcicki had resigned from her role at the company last year.

Troper’s aunt Anne Wojcicki co-founded and was CEO of 23andMe, a DNA testing company, and was married to Google co-founder Sergei Brin from 2007 to 2015, The San Francisco Chronicle reported. His grandfather was Stanley Wojcicki, a famous Stanford physicist who passed away last year.

The news of the incident spread after authorities responded to a call about an unresponsive student at the Clark Kerr dorms on the UC Berkeley campus.

Despite efforts by the Berkeley Fire Department to save him, Troper was later pronounced dead.

The real cause of Troper's death remains unknown at this point. Campus police have ruled out foul play.

Marco Troper's death: Suspected reason

Troper's grandmother Esther Wojcicki raised concerns about a possible drug overdose.

She told SFGATE news website that Troper had ingested a drug. The contents of the said drug is, however, unknown.

The family is awaiting a comprehensive toxicology report for more information. The report could take up to 30 days.

Esther Wojcicki, in a Facebook post, remembered Troper as "loving" and a "math genius" freshman at the university. Outside of academics, Troper was also known to be a socially active person, forming strong connections in his dorm at Stern Hall and joining the Zeta Psi fraternity.
