Former Chief Justice Sushila Karki is emerging as a frontrunner to lead Nepal’s transitional government after the resignation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, reported ANI, citing sources.

Karki, who made history as Nepal’s first woman Chief Justice, is among the candidates being discussed by political parties as they search for a consensus leader to steer the country through the current crisis.

Oli stepped down earlier this week after losing political support.
