Florida plane crash kills 9: Eyewitness video shows huge blaze; Governor calls it 'cataclysmic'
A Learjet 60 with nine people on board crashed on Sunday (November 1) in a residential area near Cresthaven, Florida, the US Federal Aviation Administration said. Everyone on board died when the aircraft crashed about 12:50 pm ET (1750 GMT), according to a social media post from Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, who called the incident a "horrific tragedy." Speaking at the crash site, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis described the incident as a "cataclysmic plane crash," saying the aircraft "looked like a missile going down" and left a large crater on the side of the road. Video footage posted online showed a large crater in a road with burning debris scattered on the roadside.
