'Even Melania has to show…': Schiff WARNS SAVE America Act could force First Lady to PROVE identity

Sen. Adam Schiff is warning that the SAVE America Act could hit married women especially hard by forcing them to produce extra paperwork if their legal name changed after marriage. According to Schiff’s argument, a voter whose current name does not match the name on a birth certificate may have to provide more than one document to prove identity and citizenship. He used the First Lady as an example to show how even well-known Americans could run into document-matching problems if they do not have a passport. Schiff’s office says he urged senators to oppose the bill because it would make registration and voting harder for eligible citizens.
