'Enough is enough!’: WH Press Secy Leavitt blasts Charlotte train stabbing of Ukrainian refugee
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt condemned 'reckless' criminal justice policies after the fatal Aug. 22 stabbing of 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska in Charlotte, North Carolina. Zarutska was attacked on the city’s rail system while returning home from work. Leavitt said that suspect DeCarlo Brown Jr. was a repeat offender with a long criminal record and called Zarutska’s death 'a preventable tragedy.'
