NEW DELHI: The Indian Embassy in Kabul escaped a terror attack on Wednesday night, four days ahead of the sixth edition Heart of Asia ministerial meet in Amritsar.

Two rockets landed in the vicinity of Maslakh in Shashdarak diplomatic area of Kabul on Wednesday night, a km near the Indian embassy. The US embassy too is located nearby.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Sources indicated that the terror attack could have been an attempt to send a message to India and other major powers ahead of the HoA meet that hopes to adopt a regional counterterrorism strategy, providing “practical and binding” responsibilities to 14 stakeholders, including Pakistan.
