Tesla chief and tech magnate Elon Musk on Sunday publicly criticized Brazilian judge Alexandre De Moraes, demanding his resignation.

Musk's statement comes amidst mounting tensions between the Brazilian government and social media platforms over issues of censorship and freedom of expression.

In a direct rebuke, Musk stated, "Coming shortly, X (formerly Twitter) will publish everything demanded by @Alexandre and how those requests violate Brazilian law. This judge has brazenly and repeatedly betrayed the constitution and people of Brazil. He should resign or be impeached. Shame @Alexandre, shame."
