On Saturday, crew in the Turkish port of Iskenderun were witness to a disaster earlier this week after a cargo ship sank in the middle of unloading its payload.

Sea Eagle, a cargo ship plying its trade route from Togo, docked in Iskenderum from Mersin, also in Turkey, on September 17. As per the crew, all onboard systems were functioning normally till then.

A video of the event, posted on Reddit, shows a port lift truck unloading containers from the Sea Eagle when the cargo ship keels over, sending people near the ship scurrying.

According to Turkey's Transport Ministry, 24 containers from the Sea Eagle - that had gone overboard - were recovered from the sea with divers sent to recover any other debris. The Ministry added that an investigation into the incident has been launched.

Reports from multiple news sites say all crew members were evacuated safely and no injuries were reported.
