An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 struck Pakistan on Tuesday at 7:30 pm, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS). The earthquake occurred at a depth of 111 kilometers, with its epicenter located at coordinates 31.31 N, Long: 72.52 E.

On May 10, Pakistan had reported a 4.0 magnitude earthquake and another own of magnitude 4.2 on the Richter Scale before that.

Pakistan is located at the intersection of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates, placing it in a region of high seismic activity. Areas including Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan lie along the southern boundary of the Eurasian Plate, while Punjab and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir are positioned on the Indian Plate. This leads to the country’s frequent earthquake activity.
