Trump urges allies to act: ‘Go to the Strait and take it’ or rely on U.S. fuel supplies
US President Donald Trump urged countries facing jet fuel shortages linked to the Strait of Hormuz to rely on American energy supplies while also taking greater responsibility for their own security, delivering a pointed message that they must be prepared to act independently.

“Number 1, buy from the U.S., we have plenty, and Number 2, build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT. You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore”

In his remarks, Trump referenced countries such as the United Kingdom, which he said had stayed out of what he described as efforts involving Iran, yet were now affected by limited access to jet fuel due to conditions around the Strait of Hormuz. He suggested that these nations should look to the United States as a primary supplier, pointing to the country’s available reserves.

"All of those countries that can’t get jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom, which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, I have a suggestion for you: Number 1, buy from the U.S., we have plenty, and Number 2, build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT. You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us. Iran has been, essentially, decimated. The hard part is done. Go get your own oil! President DJT."

He further argued that allied nations should strengthen their own capabilities and reduce dependence on US support, framing the situation as a broader shift toward self-reliance in both energy procurement and security commitments.
