Washington: US President Donald Trump posted an image on his social media account claiming he is the “Acting President of Venezuela.” The post, shared on Truth Social, showed a digitally altered image presenting Trump in the role following recent developments in Venezuela.

The image surfaced amid heightened tensions after a US military intervention in Venezuela, during which Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were captured and transported to the United States.

Under Venezuelan law, Vice President Delcy Rodríguez sworn in as the country’s interim President by the Supreme Tribunal of Justice following Maduro’s ouster.

Maduro is facing charges in a U.S. federal court related to drug trafficking and other alleged criminal activity, as stated by the U.S. Department of Justice.
