US President Donald Trump has offered UFC CEO Dana White the role of White House press secretary, naming fighters including Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev as potential assistants in a post on Truth Social.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump announced that White had been offered the position and described him as a "violent Fighter and Warrior".
"I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States," Trump wrote.

He added that he had asked White to bring several assistants with him, including fighters who are not from the United States.
Trump also named the fighters he wants White to bring into the White House, listing Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes and Kayla Harris.
"I have requested that he bring with him assistants, even though some are not from our Country, of Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris," Trump wrote.
Explaining the proposed role, Trump said the group would be needed to defend the administration against what he called the "Lunatic Left".
"We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job!" he added, signing off as President Donald J Trump.
Dana White's association with Trump
White, the chief executive of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), has maintained a close association with Trump, who has frequently attended UFC events. The two have shared a public association through their involvement in mixed martial arts and Trump's appearances at major UFC events.
In April 2026, White was among the attendees at the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington, where a shooting incident took place. He subsequently described the experience in an interview, recounting the chaos inside the venue.
Trump's Truth Social announcement did not clarify whether White had accepted the offer.
Just days into her role as President Donald Trump's top spokesperson, White House press secretary Katie Zacharia was ousted earlier this month. The sudden termination came after a rocky debut featuring contentious news briefings, difficult interviews, and intense scrutiny over her legal qualifications.
