Most participants were between ages 35 and 55 and wore fitted cheongsams with black stockings. The first day's agenda included lectures on love and techniques for achieving orgasm. The second day featured practical exercises like kissing, sensual dancing, tearing stockings, and role-playing to enhance their charm in intimate settings.
The group included diverse women: a 54-year-old interested in her son's classmate, a housewife facing divorce due to her husband's affair, and a single mother whose ex-husband took most of their money. They were drawn to the camp's promise to "Reignite passion in your marriage, revive your erotic life."
The program aimed to boost women's self-worth and confidence, proving that middle-aged women can be strong and attractive. The Sex Appeal Academy organized the camp, but it kept the instructors' real names private.
However, the China Sexology Association's website showed no information about the academy or the instructors. Che Xiaoyan, director of the association's nursing committee, mentioned that registered sex therapists usually work in hospitals.
The training camp faced criticism on social media. Some users labeled it unethical and exploitative of anxious women. Others recommended that middle-aged women should focus on self-improvement through healthy activities like reading and further education.
