China's vice premier says there is 'vast room' for trade cooperation with US

China and the United States have "vast room for cooperation in the economic and trade fields," Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng said on Wednesday, the official Xinhua news agency reported.

Both countries should jointly safeguard and implement the outcomes reached during summit talks between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea, He said, adding that China and the U.S. should enhance cooperation and manage differences.

He, the chief Chinese representative in trade talks with the U.S., made the remarks during a meeting with members of the U.S.-based National Committee on U.S.-China Relations.
