At least three people lost their lives and five others sustained injuries during an attack on the headquarters of Turkey's aviation company, TUSAS, as reported by Reuters. Selim Cirpanoglu, the mayor of Kahramankazan province, informed Turkish TV channel Tele1 about the incident.

The explosion was reported outside the headquarters of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), located approximately 40 kilometers from Ankara. The blast occurred around 4 pm local time (1300 GMT) and was followed by the sound of gunshots. Turkish media outlets, including NTV, showed initial images depicting a large cloud of smoke rising from the entrance of the site.

Minister Confirms Casualties

Turkey's Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, responded to the incident, stating, "Unfortunately, we have martyrs and injured people." He characterized the explosion as a "terrorist attack," confirming that it resulted in several casualties. This information was shared via a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, shortly after the reports of the attack emerged.


Emergency Response Efforts

In the wake of the explosion, employees at TAI were swiftly evacuated to a safe area. Emergency services, including security forces, ambulances, and firefighters, were promptly dispatched to the location to assist those injured and manage the situation. Local reports indicate that security measures were heightened in the vicinity following the attack.

Investigating the Incident

As of now, the authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the explosion and gunfire. According to HaberTurk television, there are indications that the blast may have been caused by a suicide bomber, although further details have yet to be confirmed. The investigation is ongoing, and more information is expected to be released as officials assess the situation.
