Canada to provide $2.5 billion in economic aid for Ukraine: PM Mark Carney
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Saturday (December 27) announced an additional $2.5 billion of economic aid for Ukraine. The assistance will help Ukraine unlock financing from the International Monetary Fund, Carney said during an appearance with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who also spoke briefly to reporters. Zelenskyy met with Carney in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, on his way to the U.S. for talks with President Donald Trump in Florida, where Zelenskyy said he hoped to find a compromise over a peace framework to end Russia's war.
