The Liberals in Canada under Prime Minister Mark Carney won a historic fourth term. The Conservatives lost the election after what seemed a clear-cut victory for the opposition after a decade of Liberal regime and extreme anti-incumbency against former PM Justin Trudeau. NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh resigned as chief of the party after it won only 7 seats, losing its national party status. The Bloc Quebecois won 23 seats, with Yves Francois Blanchet retaining his seat even after stroking separatist sentiments.
