Canada-based Bangladeshi minorities protest against treatment back home

From this gathering, a strong appeal was made to the Canadian government to protect the human rights of minorities (Hindus, Christian, Buddhist, Tribal, Indigenous, etc.) in Bangladesh.
Nine current Honorable Member of Parliament were in attendance to express their sympathy and solidarity Including co-deputy leader Mellissa Lantsman, Brad Redekopp, Shuvaloy Majumder, Arpan Khanna, Dan Muys from the Conservative party and Chadra Arya and Salma Zahid from the Liberal party.
Aditya Jha, Chief Co-Coordinator of Bangladeshi Canadian Hindus Niranjan Sarker, President of Canadian Hindu Chamber Commerce Naresh kumar Chavda, Mahendra Bhandari from Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and others community leader were actively present.
Deputy Leader Mellissa said: “The Conservative party stand with the people of Bangladesh during
unimaginable violence and persecution against religious minorities.
MP Brad Redekopp said it was an honor to join the hundreds of Bangladeshi people protesting the violence on Hindus and other religious minorities in Bangladesh.
Chandra Arya and Salma Zahid from the Liberal party also expressed that they are deeply concerned by the violence targeting religious minorities. Order of Canada Aditya Jha is looking for action from the Canadian Government.
At the end of the demonstration, a small group of representatives went to Ottawa Bangladesh high
commission and handed over the memorandum at 4 pm about the current political instability in the
Hindus and other minorities across Canada united to make the world safer. Let us stand united in our fight for justice. Let us stand firm in our commitment to human rights and let us not rest until we have secured safety and dignity for every Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, and every religions minority in Bangladesh.
