‘By any means necessary’: EU welcomes Trump’s sanctions pressure on Russia to push Ukraine peace deal
The European Union has voiced strong support for pressure on Russia coming from the Trump administration, calling it a necessary step toward achieving a ceasefire in Ukraine. European Commission spokesperson Anita Hipper stated that while Russia shows no interest in peace, both Ukraine and the EU are fully committed to ending the war. She emphasised that the EU welcomes 'any pressure, including from the United States,' to compel Russia into a ceasefire.
