A person climbed to the top of the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge in Washington on Friday, triggering a large police response, according to ABC affiliate WJLA. The man who climbed to the top of Frederick Bridge stated he was calling for an end to the U.S. war with Iran. DC's Metropolitan Police described the incident as a barricade situation, WJLA said, adding that negotiators and fire crews were deployed to the area and several lanes of traffic were shut down. The Frederick Douglass Bridge crosses over the Anacostia River and connects different quadrants of Washington, D.C.
