Brazil has sent a message to the world by prosecuting former president Jair Bolsonaro over an alleged coup plot in defiance of US pressure, Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said Tuesday.

"Brazil sent a message to all aspiring autocrats and those who support them -- our democracy, our sovereignty, are non-negotiable," Lula told the UN General Assembly.
