Blast reported outside American embassy in Beijing

A low intensity explosion was reported outside the US embassy in Beijing. The local police did not immediately react to the incident. There are also reports of a woman being detained after spraying gasoline on herself.

The Indian embassy is located close to the site where the explosion took place. No reports of fatalities or injury has been reported. However, the police is investigating the causes behind the explosion.

The US embassy is located in Beijing’s Chaoyang District. Beijing’s Chaoyang District is believed to house embassies of various countries.


Initial images showed a large amount of smoke in the area, with police vehicles surrounding the blast site.


Videos also showed police cordon being set up near the US embassy.
