Hedge fund billionaire Kyle Bass shared the breakfast bill on social media
Social media users have criticized a billionaire investor in the US for attributing his $85 or Rs 7,000 room service bill to US President Joe Biden, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, and the Federal Reserve. Hedge fund billionaire Kyle Bass aired his frustration on a social media platform after receiving a bill for waffles, "heritage bacon," orange juice, and Diet Coke during his stay at an undisclosed hotel in New York City. Alongside hashtags "Biden" and "inflation," he tagged Yellen and the Federal Reserve in his post, expressing dismay at what he labeled as a "terrible inflation milestone."

"Terrible Inflation milestone reached - My first $85 breakfast for one at a NYC hotel. After signing this bill, I have decided NEVER AGAIN. #Biden #Inflation @SecYellen @federalreserve," he posted.

Who is Kyle Bass?

However, rather than sympathizing with Bass, social media users responded harshly to his complaint. While Kyle Bass is known as the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Hayman Capital Management, his grievances about the breakfast bill didn't resonate with the online community.

He also held prominent positions at Legg Mason and Bear Stearns before founding Hayman Capital Management. Additionally, he served as Chair of the Risk Committee at the University of Texas Investment Management Company, managing around $65 billion. A finance graduate from Texas Christian University, Bass holds advisory roles with organizations such as the Hudson Institute's China Center, the George W. Bush Presidential Center, and RIA NewEdge Wealth.

How netizens reacted

"I generally enjoy reading your posts, but complaining about inflation when ordering a breakfast at a New York City hotel is a little bit much. Your knew going in that it was going to be at least twice as much as breakfast anywhere else, but you did it and added a Coke as well," said an user.

Many netizens reminded Kyle Bass that room service at a 5-star hotel in Manhattan is always expensive.

"I’m pretty sure that room service at a 5-star hotel in Manhattan was always expensive," said another user.

Another user said: "Dude, it's room service in a Manhattan hotel. You know that you're paying for the privilege of not going outside and finding a considerably less expensive food truck on the nearest corner."
