Located in Incline Village, Nevada, the large property provides magnificent views of the lake, has roomy living areas and includes a number of luxury amenities

Earlier this year, Beach Boys legend Mike Love put his Lake Tahoe mansion on the market for $43 million, having lived in the property with his wife, Jacquelyne Piesen, for many decades. Located in Incline Village, Nevada, the large property provides magnificent views of the lake, has roomy living areas and includes a number of luxury amenities. However, one of the most notable aspects of the estate is the land surrounding it. The 85-year-old Love and his wife, Jacquelyne Piesen, have placed six acres of adjacent land under conservation protection in order to help preserve the area's pine trees and wildlife.

As revealed in the property records examined by PEOPLE, Love constructed the three-storey main house in 1997 on a 2.5-acre plot close to the northeastern part of Lake Tahoe. Over the course of many years the couple lived at the property, turning it into a private retreat for the family and also using it as a place where Love could carry out his creative work. Since their eight children are now adults, the couple have decided to sell the house. The property was put up for sale at $43 million in April 2026.

The mansion makes use of its position near Lake Tahoe by having large windows and open living areas which allow natural light into the house at the same time as providing views of the lake and the Sierra Nevada mountains. The home, which has three storeys, also uses stone obtained directly from the land, thus making the building have a nearer connection to its natural environment.

The principal house is situated on 2.5 acres, and an extra six acres have been placed under conservation protection, which in turn helps to protect the surrounding trees and wildlife from future development. For Love and Piesen the estate has meant more than just a luxury property; it has served as their private retreat for decades.

The property includes 10 bedrooms, 12 full bathrooms and three half-bathrooms, so that there is ample room for family members and visitors. A principal characteristic of the house is the large great room on the first floor, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass windows which provide broad views of the lake and retractable doors that lead straight onto a terrace.

The kitchen and dining area are also placed in such a way as to make use of the views. The arrangement links the indoor living areas with the outside environment, so that the residents can appreciate the scenery all day. The three floors each have eight en-suite bedrooms, and some of them have private balconies.

The main suite is in its own wing of the house and has two bathrooms, one of which has stone finishes and a steam facility and the other of which has a soaking tub; it also has a sun deck and a private coffee bar.

A swimming pool, hot tub and outdoor play areas

There are a number of possibilities for relaxation and entertainment in the outdoor areas. The property has a swimming pool and a hot tub which can hold 10 people, and there is also a specially made trampoline as well as a playground on the property.

A further odd feature is the presence of a temporary ice-skating rink on the upper lawn. With these facilities residents have plenty to do without having to leave the premises. Privacy is provided by the surrounding land and the protected areas also contribute to the preservation of the natural landscape surrounding the house. The fact that Love has decided to protect the land nearby his house shows that he has always been interested in environmental conservation.

For many years he and Piesen carried out work with organizations including the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and the University of California, Davis, in an effort to help preserve the clarity and purity of Lake Tahoe.

In 2012 Love was present when the first highway roundabout at Lake Tahoe was officially dedicated. As KCRA had reported back then, the project, which cost $2.4 million, was intended to enhance road safety, help protect the clarity of the lake's water and provide a platform for local public art.

Love has also commented on the environmental message contained in the Beach Boys' song "Don't Go Near the Water."

In 2021 Love told Uncut magazine that the song was about being conscious of your surroundings and said that you should leave the environment in a better state than the one in which you found it.

The fact that six acres surrounding his home have been conserved shows the same concern for protecting the natural environment.
