In an interview few days back, Rahman said it was not possible for a woman to lead Jamaat-e-Islami, arguing that men and women were created differently by Allah. Referring to childbirth and breastfeeding, he claimed that such biological differences determine leadership roles.
Rahman admitted that the party has not fielded any female candidates for parliament. He attempted to justify this by citing cultural barriers

The pro-Pakistan Jamaat has come under major criticism for comparing working women with prostitutes. Sources said that this shows Jamaat’s true face and how they want to take country back to a regressive stage.
This also shows that Jamaat is trying to enact Taliban type of policies in Bangladesh. The US had helped Taliban to come power and had faced consequences.
There is a need to boycott Jamaat hashtags, experts said. And international human rights organisations should take note of Jamaat’s anti women position
