Wally Funk
Soon to become the world's oldest astronaut, female aviator Wally Funk is 82 years old and will fulfill a lifelong dream of traveling to space that was earlier thwarted by sexism in the early space era. Funk took her first flying lessons when she was aged 9 and even took part in the Mercury 13 project that aimed to train women for space but the program was eventually canceled. She still went on to have an accomplished career in aviation.

Daemen's father is the CEO of a private equity firm and also paid for his ticket.
