'Al-Sharaa helped to disrupt ISIS, al-Qaida': Rubio announces as US drops Syria from terror list
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the removal of Syria from the State Sponsors of Terrorism list after 47 years, citing President Ahmed al-Sharaa’s efforts against ISIS and al-Qaida. Al-Sharaa thanked President Donald Trump as Washington’s decision opens the door to greater investment and Syria’s economic reintegration.
