After Trump, China slaps reciprocal tariffs on Canada as global trade war heats up
China has announced imposing retaliatory tariffs on some Canadian goods as a global trade war looms. Beijing will impose 100% tariffs on rapeseed oil, oil cakes, and peas. It will also impose a 25% import levy on aquatic products and pork from Canada from 20 March. This comes after Ottawa slapped a 100% import levy on Chinese electric vehicles.
