After massive destruction, Nepal faces risk of another devastating flood: China sounds major alarm

In a latest assessment in the wake of Nepal’s ‘deadly’ flash flood, China's Ministry of Water Resources has sounded alarm. As per ‘Global Times’ report citing CCTV, significant barrier lake has formed in Nepal, holding 2 mn cubic meters of water & already overflowing. Another 3 million cubic meters expected to enter the lake within three days, sharply raising the risk of a breach. China’s Ministry of Water Resources warned of high breach risks near the Chhochen Khola & Purepu Tsangpo river confluence. Nepal on Aug 27 has been warned of the risk of another major flood in the Bhotekoshi River.
