After JD Vance’s egg price blunder, Donald Trump takes to Pennsylvania grocery store, vows to tackle rising costs

Former President Donald Trump visited Sprankle’s Neighborhood Market in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, on Monday as part of his campaign. Engaging with customers, Trump promised to lower grocery prices if he wins the election. He was captured on video giving $100 to a local mother of three for her groceries, stating, “We’ll take care of that for you from the White House.”

Handing over the money, he remarked, “Here, it’s gonna go down a little. It just went down 100 bucks.” The woman responded with gratitude, saying, “Thank you so much,” and Trump replied, “We’ll do that for you from the White House, alright?”



In addition to his grocery store visit, Trump emphasized his goal of addressing inflation and reducing costs for essentials like groceries and gasoline. After his visit, he purchased a large bag of popcorn from the store, where a customer shared, "My mom just got a bag of that actually."

Trump asked if the popcorn was good, to which the customer replied, "She says it's the best." Trump responded, “Is that the best? If it is, I'll be sending, I'll be in Washington DC, hopefully in the Oval Office, I'll send for popcorn.”

Trump also took the time to discuss inflation's impact on businesses with the store owner. His visit drew a large crowd eager to see him, highlighting his continued popularity among supporters in Pennsylvania.

Vance’s Controversial Remarks on Egg Prices

Earlier on the same day, Trump’s running mate, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, held a town hall meeting with local farmers in Smithton. During a separate visit to a supermarket in Reading, Pennsylvania, Vance made headlines by connecting rising egg prices to the policies of Vice President Kamala Harris. While navigating the supermarket aisles with his children, he claimed, “Looking at the prices here, things are way too expensive because of Kamala Harris’ policies.”

Vance pointed to a carton of eggs and remarked, “Yes, buddy. Want some eggs? Let’s talk about eggs. Because these guys actually eat about 14 eggs every single morning.” He further stated, “Eggs, when Kamala Harris took office, were short of $1.50 a dozen. Now a dozen eggs will cost you around $4.”

Vance framed his comments as part of a broader critique of the Biden administration, asserting that “Pennsylvania actually has seen some of the worst grocery price increases of the entire nation,” blaming Harris's support for the Inflation Explosion Act.

However, Vance’s statements faced scrutiny when social media users pointed out a price board behind him that listed eggs at $2.99, contradicting his claims of them costing $4. Critics on social media reacted quickly, with one user commenting, “Is Vance really this stupid? It's like he's secretly working for the Dems at this point.”
