Afghanistan's fall a 'defining feature' for both Biden admin and modern American history: Analysis

The Taliban on Tuesday is seeking to convince a wary Afghan population that they have changed a day after deadly chaos gripped the main airport as desperate crowds tried to flee their rule. The fall Kabul to the Taliban this week will be a "defining feature," for both the Biden administration, modern American history and the people of Afghanistan, said the CEO of the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) Washington think-tank, Richard Fontaine. Fontaine admitted to "a certain level of heartbreak and shocked response,' when he saw images of Taliban leaders inside the presidential palace.
