‘8/10 homeless people are drug addicts…’: Shocking testimony on homelessness stuns House hearing
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee held a hearing titled “Fixing Fraud and Failure in Federally Funded Homelessness Services” on Sept. 15. Rep. Tim Burchett, chairman of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency, led the hearing as lawmakers examined allegations of financial mismanagement, waste and fraud involving federal funds directed toward the Los Angeles homelessness crisis.
