57 students injured as earthquake hits northwest Pakistan
PESHAWAR: At least 57 students were injured during a stampede in a school in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province after a 4.5-magnitude earthquake jolted parts of the northwest Pakistan this morning.

Three of them are in critical condition and shifted to district hospital for emergency medical treatment, the Deputy Commissioner's office said.

The students were from a local school in mountainous Allai tehsil of Battagram district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the US Geological Survey, the quake occurred at a depth of 37.2 kilometres and hit areas including Swat, Battagram, Shangla, Abbotabad, Mansehra and Muzaffarabad.

According to Provincial Disaster Management Authority, there was no report of loss of life or property.
