Pakistani fighter jets pounded Doga Madakhel area of restive North Waziristan district near the Afghan border, killing 20 terrorists.
The Military in a short statement said that "20 terrorists were killed in precise aerial strikes in North Waziristan," without giving further details.
Intelligence officials said that the jets targeted hideouts of the Haqqani network and of a local warlord.
Haqqanis, who are aligned with the Afghan Taliban, were accused of some of the bloodiest attacks in Afghanistan including the Sunday's horrific suicide blast at a volleyball match in the east of the country.
Pakistan military has been mounting an offensive against local and foreign militants in North Waziristan since June.
