2 killed in coal mine explosion in China's Heilongjiang

Blast took place at around 2 pm yesterday at Xintie mine in Qitaihe City when 80 miners were working underground, state-run Xinhua reported.

BEIJING: Two people were killed and four others injured in an explosion in a coal mine in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.

The blast took place at around 2 pm yesterday at Xintie mine in Qitaihe City when 80 miners were working underground, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

Two people were confirmed dead, four have been injured while others were evacuated safely.

The injured are being treated in hospital, it added.
