1 killed, several trapped in scaffolding collapse in China

BEIJING: One worker was killed, seven injured and six others trapped under the debris of a scaffold which collapsed today in east China's Anhui Province.

The incident happened at 11 am at a construction site of a power plant in Huainan City, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

So far eight workers were pulled out of the rubble and admitted to hospital out of which one worker died during treatment.

Rescue operation is underway for the remaining six workers.

The cause behind the collapse is being investigated.
